As shown in the short pedigree above, "Clyde" is tightly linebred on ARMCh Rosasharn Tiger L ++*S and SG/ARMCh Rosasharn Uni 3*D, both with notable progeny as well as their own production records. Uni still holds the all-time butterfat production record for her 2007 lactation [8yr 6 mo-305 DIM-1490# milk-112# bf(7.5%)-56# protein(3.7%)]. Clyde is named after the Athenian Cleisthenes. Cleisthenes (also Clisthenes or Kleisthenes) (Κλεισθένης) was a noble Athenian who reformed the constitution of ancient Athens and set it on a democratic footing in 508 BC.
This handsome and well-mannered buck has sired only 2 daughters in 2010, Topaz and Squirt. Squirt developed a precocious udder as a yearling. This bodes well for her future production potential! I milked her for a few months so she could learn her milk stand manners. She has been bred to Dusty (Dragonfly T Ashen Myst) for 2012 kids. Topaz freshened with a single doe kid in August 2011. I am very pleased with the improvements that Clyde gave Topaz over her dam, which speaks volumes since Goldie is our best doe! Topaz has improved teat size (yipee!) over Goldie, and incredibly an even more smooth fore-udder. Her capacity isn't what Goldie's was as a yearling first freshener, however she only had a single while Goldie had twins. I'm certainly proud of Clyde's contributions to his daughters thus far, and am looking forward to their future freshenings and more Clyde offspring! I think he may just follow in his illustrious grandpa Tiger L's footsteps.
